Test Magazine Advert

For this task we had 10 minutes to shoot an image for our genre of music, we chose indie.
We edited this image in photoshop and burnt in the edges for a darker atmosphere. We added text such as the artist, album title, release date, review and shops that will sell the album on to the advert. We used the font 'Brushes' as it looked the best against the brick backdrop.

If we had more time on this advert we would have thought more carefully about the image itself, and how we wanted it to look, this way we could plan what editing techniques we would apply to the image which would save us time as we wouldn't be experimenting on the day.

Photoshop Make up + Glowing Lines

We watched YouTube tutorials for adding make up to this image. We like the effect that it has and would contemplate using in our project.






We also watched a tutorial on the glowing lines. We found the tutorial useful however we do not like this effect as much, and won't be using it in our project.

Lip-syncing task

For this task we had to edit the video in time with the music to make sure all the clips were lip-syncing with the audio. We felt this task went well, and we produced good work.

What it means to be a star - Peter Andre

A star is someone who has become famous both for their job and appearing in may sorts of media. This makes their image instantly recognisable. Their image becomes a sign of many meanings, this image can be used as a marketing tool also to make money for the star. Representation is important, this comes from interviews, books, photographs.

Peter Andre is a star because he started off singing, then appeared in the I'm a Celebrity, then married and famously divorced Jordan, and had children, their family life was aired on reality TV. He then did various charity work, and dated publicly and continued with his show 'My Life', re-appeared on I'm a Celebrity, and wins awards for appearing on television whilst still releasing music.

Hip-hop genre conventions

The task was to research the Hip-Hop genre of music.
We went on to YouTube and watched a selection of Hip-Hop artist's videos. We then mind-mapped the conventions that these videos had in common. This is our end result:
